Clarifying Time of Day on an Alert

If say I have a File Directory Monitor running (thanks familyofcrowes) on a unix server to alert if the directory is not empty. And suppose I have Time of day on the Alert set to Tues through Saturday from 10 am till 10:10 am because I just need to make sure it have cleared out by 10 am. If the monitor goes critical while the Alert time is being suppressed say 9:55 am, when the time rolls to 10 am will the alert actions be triggered, ie send an email?

Or is there a better way to monitor this directory as intermittent as I will be. And please do not say the unmanage schedule utility.

I'd either make sure your "Alert Evaluation Frequency" on General Tab of alert is less than 10 minutes so you know it will poll DB for alerting in that 10 minute window (I'd probably make 4 min to ensure)...also make sure component check is every 5 minutes lets say.

if you don't want to poll that much, extend your time window.

Any way you twist it, I'd test the snot out of it.

That being said and re-reading your ?, e augment-- I expect that the eval freq has to trigger a DB query before the alert can fire....GREAT question! SW?

I'm now SW staff but when I was I did a lot of work on Advanced Alerts. The eval time sets how often the alerting engine queries the DB for the alert condition. If the condition is true before during the query it will trigger.
