Show node as down on SAM, if certain syslog event is triggered

Is this possible?

I have been asked by a colleague to configure nodes/swtiches to report syslog events into SAM.  That part is fine but I have then been asked........

Is it possible that if a certain syslog event occurs from a node, would we then be able to show that node as down in SAM?

The node status icon is a reflection of that nodes reachability via ICMP. It's not currently possible to change the status of a node based on other information such as SNMP Traps or Syslog messages. I would recommend posting this as a feature request in the Ideas section of Thwack.
