Alert trigger again whenever modification is done

HI, i have an issue. i have a disk threshold alert, now when ever i add any new drive in alert, a popup come and ask me you have changed the trigger condition of this alert..do you wish to continue.....

and when i click yes, it throws all previously generated alert as well, that were thrown 2,3 months back.

so i have bunch of disk threshold alerts that were already generated though not taken care of.

any way i can suppress this?

I think I understand the concern, but if your new definition is supposed to be better, just let them become active alerts the next time the alert is evaluated (1m by default). If the alert were to stay active after you changed its definition you'd wind up with some alerts that are active with trigger conditions A and another set that are active with trigger conditions B. Bad mojo.

its like, i have 100 machines added, and advance alert is configured to send email when it goes down.

Now with time lets say 30 machines are down in a year,

now after one year i added another machine in the alert list, and when i press ok.

it will send 30 emails again of those old machine already down.

Can i stop these alerts to regenerate?

Ah, I get what's happening. You're actually modifying the alert and adding individual systems to it as exclusions? It sounds like you need to be unmanaging nodes and/or using custom properties to identify these problem nodes. Can you show me a screenshot of the trigger condition? There are easier ways to do this that don't involve updating the trigger condition every time.

Mrxinu , you are right, unmanaging them will not trigger them but my situation is that, most of the machines are taken down temporarily, and i dont know when they will come online again. any other way around
