SolarWindsOrion Database Schema

We just bought APM tool in our company.

What is the best way to understand the purpose of each table in the SQL Database. I am a DBA and to get familiar with the tool I would like to find out more about each table and its columns.

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to understand the APM better or are you trying to do some custom manipulation of the data the Orion APM is collecting? SolarWinds doesn't publish a database schema for Orion. There are a few ways you can familiarize yourself with the database design if you are having trouble with it. We might be able to give you some better direction if we understand what you are after.

I would like to create some custom SQL Server Reporting Serivces (SSRS) Reports connecting to SolarWinds database. I thought familiarizing with the design of the database would help.

I woudl love SW to put a forum on here specifcially based around microsoft reporting services... i am doing exactly the same stuff right now, trying to mine out data for interface utilisation and errors, and create auto dashboards that email out via subscription from the reports portal...

The Reporting interface of APM looks great, but to create some customized reports I thought I can use SSRS Reports.

Example of a customized report is to track CPU Utiulization of 20 selected nodes in one chart. I am not sure if we can do this in APM Reporting tool but if I know the tables which store all the performance data I can qucikly buld a SSRS Report.
