Problem after SAM 5.2.1 upgrade

I attempted to upgrade SAM from ver 5.0.1 to 5.2 sp1 today the upgrade failed with this error:

• Error while executing script- Hint 'noexpand' on object 'dbo.APM_MultivalueAlertsDataInternal' is invalid.

So after restarting the services everything came back up with the old version of course. Well now I just want to the system up on the old version but website is giving me errors on some pages the error that I am getting is :

Resource Key 'APMXMLDATA_VB1_1' was not found in Resource File 'APM.Strings'

I do have a support ticket open but appartently nobody answers the phone after 5pm est.

I just did the upgrade this evening got the same issue and same response from my ticket.. ?

Technical support is available 24 hours a day, though you may have called during a shift change. The issue you're experiencing during upgrade is well documented in the following KB article. I recommend following the steps outline there and then proceed with the upgrade to SAM 5.2 SP1.

Actually my error is:

ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN ErrorDescription failed because one or more objects access this column.

Does the priority when opening a ticket actually mean anything to support? If I open a ticket with a "High" priority was does that mean?

I am curious to how each priority level is defined.

Low - within 24hours

med - within 12hours

High - wihtin ???

Urgent - ???

I have actually checked the setting that this speaks off and it is set to

off. I checked this on the database server were the solarwinds database

is. Do I need to check the NCM database also? Should I be checking this

on the solarwinds server somewhere. The database is on another server and

that is were we checked.

Severity is factored into case routing, but I can't provide any specific details around SLAs since I'm not part of the support group. "Urgent" should be reserved for systems down hard (all polling stopped) scenarios. Which seems like the case may be here.

If you're receiving the error "Resource Key 'APMXMLDATA_VB1_1' was not found in Resource File 'APM.Strings'" Please run the configuration wizard. Located at start, all programs, solarwinds orion, configuration and autodiscovery, select "web site" and when it gets to the web settings page add a 1 on to the end of the "Website root Directory" so that it will create a new web site folder, C:\InetPub\SolarWinds1. Then let it run through.Once a new website is created the error should be no longer appear.

Now as far as the first error I received that caused the upgrade to fail

should I still be concerned with that. It seem that the website errors are

just a result of that upgrade failing. Is there any way to reload version

5.0.1.

So what I have noticed is that if the case owner is gone for the day the

call sits in the queue. Someone else needs to pick them up.

Or if you open it up after hours - it travels around the world. I got my initial response at 4:30am EST.

I contacted my account manager and got a callback within the hour.

My request was open with a priority of "High"

However, we got a developer on the phone and he had it resolved in 30-40mins. Required manual updates to a couple APM tables.

I will. I believe a got pass my original issue but now config wizard

errors with

Website configuration failed:

? Failure updating ASP.NET script maps.

Have you seen this error? I've seen several different answers for this

and don't know which one to try.

I believe my only problem right now is getting the web site to come up.
