Yes, you can disable mailbox monitoring in AppInsight for Exchange

You can certainly choose to monitor your SQL db with the AppInsight for SQL only to only poll for database information and not apply the other template.
Sorry I meant AppInsight for Exchange. I'm being asked if we could just poll the db's and not the mailboxes. Hope I'm explaining it correctly.

Based on your description that's not something you could do with the AppInsight for Exchange template. However, perhaps you can give me more details into your use case - are you trying to avoid alerts? Status on the mailboxes? What are you trying to accomplish?

I was given the task to monitor my exchange environment via APPInSight once I started monitoring the mailboxes and dbs on my db server for Solarwinds grew to large and crashed my system since the DB is on the same datastore has my OS which is a no no but I have to make it work with what I have. So they are asking if we can just monitor the DB and not the mailboxes which I’m not sure if it’s possible. I hope this helps..
