so what about the option 'Group historical data by days' that I mentioned before? If you turn it off then filtering by time should work fine and the report should work on website the same way how it works in report writer. Does it work for you?

Please ensure you're monitoring the CMC and not the DRACs themselves. Also, SAM 5.5 RC2 includes a fix for Hardware Health monitoring for Dell Blade Chassis. You should have received an email earlier today with a link to download RC2.

I can confirm that this is known bug we found in RC1 on several Dell Blade Chassis servers. As mentioned this bug is fixed in RC2.

That's good news... we're running RC1 and have downloaded RC2 and will maybe install it this afternoon. I'll keep you posted. Another thing I noticed when I get alerts and click on some of the network devices like this:

When I click on the Te5/1 Receive Power Sensor Network device link i get these error messages for them and some of the other hardware component monitors in Alerts:

For some reason it doesn't seem to understand the AHS prefix on the netobject... have you ever seen something like this before guys???

I tried to reproduce your netobject error in the lab without any success. Are you continuing to see this error even after upgrading to RC2?

Excellent... thanks so much Donderka :^} And thanks alterego... I'll report back when RC2 goes on. Other than these small things the new version is great!

I wanted to let everyone know that RC2 fixed both my Dell Blade Center Problems and the Network Objects are now clickable in the alerts browser again!

One thing I have noticed now is that some of my newer reports that run in the report writer are now showing no data when I try and run them from the website (they worked on website before the upgrade)... When I try and run them they look like this:

Business Hours CPU Utilization Traffic Last 7 Days - Windows

Node	Average CPU Load	Peak CPU Load
No activity to report.

The same report runs fine in the report writer.

I'll try running the configuration wizard on the website again tomorrow and see if that makes any difference.

This is an odd issue. Can you try re-saving the report in Report Writer with a different name, re-verify the newly saved report runs in report writer, then try running that same new report through the web interface? If that still doesn't work please open a case with support referencing this thread and post your case number here so we can track it appropriately.

Thanks alterego... I tried saving as another filename and unfortunately the newer reports I need the most aren't running from website but do run from report writer. Strange thing is this is not true of all of my custom reports. I opened Case # 441853 Created: Many custom reports stopped running from website after NPM 10.4.1 RC2 upgrade for the issue. I appreciate all your help. The reports in question are really fairly simple too ie. no custom SQL or anything like that. I'll keep experimenting and see if I come up with anything that differentiates the non working reports from the ones that do work in website.

If config wizard doesn't help and the problem still persists, I'd like to check definition of that report. Can you send the report file over to me through the original support case, which should be still open?

While you're waiting for to look over the report, you may want to try creating a new, local Orion user account with full permissions and try logging in as that user and running the report. However unlikely, I'm trying to rule out account limitations or anything permissions related.

Thanks guys... I replied to case email with copy of 4 of the reports that don't run on website but do in writer. I created an local Orion users with full perms, logged in and that didn't work. Good idea to rule that out. The strange thing is that other reports I created that are similar do work... note the one things that different on the new reports are filters for the time of day, and Day of Week that weren't on the working versions. Other than that they are the same I pretty sure since I think I used the originals... added filters and did save as if I'm not mistaken.

I figured something out... when I unchecked (didn't even delete) all of the filter results lines from the report in report writer the report starts running in the website again... this would seem to point to the Filter not working on the website for some reason.

I now isolated it down to the Time of Day part of the filter... if I uncheck only the Time of Day part of filter and leave the Day of Week or Vendor filter in the report... it will run from fine from the website.

yes, you are right, only the time filters conflict with the grouping by days that I mentioned in my previous post

Yeah that's the problem I ran into here with management in the first place... they were like these reports show average data that is useless because the standard reports skew that data since no one uses the infrastructure at night... this makes all the averages look way too low for utilization. This applies to CPU, Memory, and many other reports. For me I'm mainly concerned with 5AM to 5PM to cover MA and AZ business hours.

Yes!!! by UN-checking Group historical data by days on General tab does work correctly on the website with my filters in place! At first I didn't understand your comment:

"In Report Writer there is an option 'Group historical data by days' on the General tab. Turning that option off might solve your problem (don't forget to save the report after you change that option).

In short, one of consequences of that option is that time info is removed from the source data, so your filtering by working hours doesn't return anything."

Now my question is... what's the consequence of this option and why did it work before and not now?
