Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Real-Time Stats
iceman
I know this is not a Cisco site, but is there a tool via Solarwinds or another vendor that allows for real-time traffic stats on a Cisco Switch and Router?
CPU would also be nice.
5 or even 1 min averages are not good enough for us. We run a electronic trading platform and our servers could possibly burst between 4 and 90 Mbps.
The one 1 and 5 min averages can be very misleading.
Thanks

The Solarwinds toolsets can do the interface stats in 5 second intervals, but only visually.

There is no logging of this info at this type of interval that I'm aware of.
You can use Netflow for this & set the collection interval to 30 seconds, but then you need a Netflow app to report on this.

The SNMP Graph within SolarWinds Engineer's Edition will graph and log these stats.
Start a new graph and select the traffic or CPU MIBs you want to monitor.
You can poll as often as every 10 seconds.
You can also use the SolarWinds MIB Browser to find the MIB variables you need,
from a downloaded SNMP table or MIB list, right click on a value and select
"SNMP Graph". This will launch SNMP Graph and start collecting information from the MIB.
You can change the polling settings or log it to a file if needed.
