Have Oracle 10g client installed.

Have installed the solarwinds oracle client.

Trying to get Oracle experience monitor to run. Get this error -

Oracle returned an error. The Oracle Client software must be installed to use the Oracle Database Monitor. This software can be downloaded from the SolarWinds Customer Portal under Additional Components.

Have a ticket open, but that's getting me nowhere. HOW DO I GET APM TO SEE THE ORACLE CLIENT? FOR CRYING OUT LOUD....(can tnsping, can sqlpus to any of the oracle database I want to monitor...)

Hi,

If your problem is OK to connect the Oracle Server (from Solarwinds Server) via tnsping and SQL*PLUS with same credidential and tnsnames (from file tnsnames.ora)? But when assigned APM Oracle Template to it, it will return a "Unavailable" status to refer to the SAME tnsnames?

Please help to share your experiences and also how your problem might have already solved or not?

Heard that this is a bug in APM Oracle Template which may or may not connect to Oracle DB for monitoring. Solarwinds replied that to fix in APM 3.0, but did not give details on which version of APM or which version of Oracle will be affected. Also did not have date of available for the APM 3.0?

Try to check if you may have used the db_domain inside your database instance. The Oracle Template in APM 2.5 should use the Global Database Name (db_name.db_domain). No information from Solarwinds as above is just my test results.
