Empty Disk Volumes within Node Detail

Hi there,

I primarily want to use APM to monitor Exchange Server counters & services but I'd also like to monitor the Disk volumes. For example, I don't want to run out of free space on a Exchange Log or DB volume.

I see in the Node Detail page there's a host of info such as response times, etc, but the 'Disk Volumes' field is empty.

Is there a seperate template that I need to apply to this node or is this info only available with SNMP?

Thanks for the quick reply! I have now configured SNMP and can connect to the server via it. I know it's workin because it returns info such as the contact detail sthat I entered in the SNMP service on the server. However, it still does not display any disk info. Do I need to add a template for this?

Now working!!

I went into Settings -> Manage Nodes -> Highlighted the node -> clicked 'List Resources' and ticked the resources I wanted to monitor.

Hi,

this field relies on data fetched from SNMP. ICMP-only node won't have it populated.

Just one more thing if I may...

Though I can now see Resource info, can I set warning / critical thresholds on them or would that call for a seperate WMI monitor?

Are you using locally attached disk or SAN disk presented as exchange Storage Groups ?

The reason I ask is I've created 2 templates to monitor Exchange Storage Groups that track free space on the SG volumes. They appear (in my environment) as e:\sg01\logs, e:\sg01\mail, e:\sg02\logs, ...

I can post the templates if there is interest.

Hi Chris,

All servers are virtual with all volumes including C: located on SAN.

I'll take a look at your template - many thanks for posting that.
