Alerting on a Volume growth over time... HELP

Question

Hey all,

Out side of size forcasting, I can't find away to Alert on say a 10% growth on a specific volume over a 30 minute time period.

The reason for needing this is a application error'd and was writing GB's of log files on the C drive of a server. This therefore filled the drive up in a very shot space of time and bought the server down.

Any help would be welcomed.

My advice here would be to contact support. As you have a genuine need for this kind of alert, they will be able to tell you definitively if it is possible. If you do contact support, please update this thread with the response

That’s what I was afraid of. I’ve looked into the SQL side but if it’s doable its way beyond my skill Level.

I don't believe there's a Web GUI alert that can be configured to check on volume growth. It might be possible to do this using SQL/SWQL, but I'm not sure the resulting query could be used in an alert.
