Orion Database Index Defragmention no effect on Nonclustered Indexes

Hello,

I recently set the Index Defragmentation checkbox to on and to run at the default 2:15am time frame.

I have checked the next few mornings and I see that that this task does seem to have an effect on the Clustered indexes. They were in the high 90s and now at 71 and below.

But, the Nonclustered indexes still showing in the 90s each morning.

Is this normal and expected?

I may not have the answer your looking for. But my experiences have been that certain tables that are used frequently and or locked during maintenance do not get reindexed. In my environment some of those same tables you mentioned in your post are 90% before and 90% after defrag completes. And it just seems to me to be because it's a fequently used table that's always been read and written and modified. At least that's my opinion and what I've seen.

Maybe someone in the community can provide more information.
