Hi,
I would like to receive traps from DWDM devices and forward some to the NOC console as SNMP traps containing a concise message text. The following is an exerpt from the list of OID's that should be forwarded and the respective message texts:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.220 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:CarrierLossOnTheLAN
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.430 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:LossOfSignal
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.1660 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:EquipmentFailure
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.1670 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:HighTemperature
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.1730 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:AutomaticLaserShutoffDueToHighTemperature
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.1830 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:FailureOfCoolingFanTray
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.1850 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:InternalPowerFailure
.1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.2830 ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:FreeMemoryOnCardVeryLow
I could create a separate Alert/Filter rule for each line, but that would result in quite a lot of rules. The last portion of the message is the textual name of the OID, i.e .1.3.6.1.4.1.3607.6.10.30.0.220 is CarrierLossOnThe LAN when browsing the MIB. Is there some way I could get the name of the triggering OID as a parameter?
I tried ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}: ${OID}, but that parameter doesn't resolve to anything. I have also tried ORION-ALARM:${NodeName}:${IP}:${Message}, which prints quite a lot of information about the trap causing the message to spread over several lines on the NOC console.
Best regards,
Marko
