How to make a failed APM application change the color of the node in summary view

I'm trying to configure APM so that it will monitor and alert on my Citrix Presentation Server farms. I've gotten most of the things working and have created a custom View for Citrix that shows my farms and server silos. My problem is that when I have a problem with the Application (Citrix Presentaiton Server), the Node still stays green.

Is there a way to make the Node turn yellow or red if I have an issue with an Application being monitored with APM? I'm attaching a screenshot of my view that shows the failed application and the node that has the failed application and that it's still showing "green".

Currently, this is not a feature of APM so it's not possible. There's been discussion of this in the past so SolarWinds has confirmed that this is on the roadmap.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find anything in the forum.

Is there any estimated date that this would be available? It seems like it makes perfect sense as without it, the Servers all look "green" when infact there could be an application running on that server that has a problem. Since the Web view is only showing Node Status, there needs to be a way to trigger the node status as failed/error/warning with the application being down.

I'm new to Solarwinds and am now wondering if monitoring the actual exe's that host my services allow this to work? This would be using Application Monitor instead of APM. If one of those exe's were not running, would that change the node status? Or is the node status only looking at uptime(icmp/ping) disk, cpu, memory, etc.?

Is there a better way to monitor the application status?

I can't give you a time frame, but I can tell you that it's a high-priority item. Until then, include All Applications (sorted by node) along with All Nodes on the view that you're looking at. All Applications *will* change the status based on application status.

Thanks Denny, that's provided me close to what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, the All Applications tree doesn't let you sort by as many options as the Server View. While I can sort by the custom property Citrix_Farm, I'm not able to further sort by Application. So my 100 servers for that farm will all show up under the farm. I was hoping to keep the structure similar to the Server Silo's that are configured in our Citrix Farms. However, I suppose this will work for now.

Is this functionality something that will be coming out in the next service pack or is it possibly out longer than that?
