Application Monitor (AppInsight for IIS)

Hey Guys

I have tried everything that I could possibly try (following the helpful hints and advice), however I cannot seem to get AppInsight for IIS working.

I have tried Automatic Configuration and I have tried Manual Configuration. (following each step carefully from [http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/sam/default.htm#cshid=SAMAGAppInforIISManuallyEnable.htm])

Anyone have this issue? maybe there is a log file that informs me, why this is not working?

Issue has now been resolved.

Hi ddrake1984‌,

This is likely a SSL authentication problem. I couldn't remember what I did last time I came across this error, so did a bit of googling around the error, and came up with the following which rings a bell (disclaimer: make sure the IIS server has a good backup before you follow these steps, just for CYA reasons natch):

1. make sure IIS WinRM extension is installed
2. open powershell and run command : WinRM Quickconfig
3. Open IIS go to Powershell virtual directory and check that SSL

Check and see if it's working now.

If not:

5. Open Windows powershell modules

6. run Remove-PowershellVirtualDirectory

6. run New-PowershellVirtuallirectory

7. IISreset

Possible Causes:

1. The "Require SSL" option has been enabled on the PowerShell Virtual Directory. To resolve this, remove the "Require SSL" option from this Virtual Directory. The Exchange Management Tools connect over port 80, not 443, so if Require SSL is set, when a connection is attempted on port 80, IIS will return a 403 error indicating SSL is required.

There should be some logs in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds folder on the target server if the 'Configure Server' button was able to successfully make some changes.

You are correct, there are logs in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds folder. which would you be referring to? and what do I do with them?
