custom GIF shows correctly in Network Atlas, but not in browser

Howdy,

I've created some custom GIF files with a transparent background. These display correctly when I add them to a map in Network Atlas.

However when I save the map and then view that map from my PC or another PC, the transparent background shows up as white and it makes them look really bad. Using Windows 7 with IE8 as well as Chrome. Tried using the .emf format and got the same result. Tried on another PC and got the same (win 7 and firefox)

Is this a feature of a bug? How can I get them to display correctly? Thanks.

I'm currently having the same issue, g@z. Except I don't even get the white image. Just a blank 3D (lily)pad with nothing on it.
