ipRouteNextHop - OID not supported

Hi,

I've the following Problem - I've made an Custom UnDP to check which link is active. For this purpose I used this MIB 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.21.1.7.10.203.162.0 (10.203.162.0 is the Network to check) - on my Cisco3750. This works perfect and I get back the IP Adress for the next hop.

But on another Cisco3750 (newer IOS - 12.2(55)SE ) this doesn't work. I've already spent some hours googling but i can't find a solution. Anybody has an idea which MIB gives back the IP of the next hop on this IOS Version?

finally it works

the problem on the new MIB 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24.4.1.4 was, that it needs an subnet mask if it is classless.

1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24.4.1.4.0.0.0.0 - returns de Default gateway

1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24.4.1.4.10.203.128.0 returns - OID not supported

1.3.6.1.2.1.4.24.4.1.4.10.203.128.0.255.255.240.0 - returns the correct next hop for this network!

Have you looked in the Cisco feature Nav?

Hi,

I took another look at the feature navigator. There are some differences in the MIBs

On the new IOS version following MIBs are missing:

CISCO-IETF-IP-FORWARD-MIB

CISCO-IETF-IP-MIB

and following are added:

IP-MIB

so i used the IETF mib before.. which isn't aviable anymore.. and I've no idea how to solve this problem.
Seems there is a nexthop mib in IPMROUTE_STD_MIB - but this doesn't work as expected. (1.3.6.1.2.1.83.1.1.3.1.5)

It would be awesome if anybody could help.. this isthe only chanche to recognize if a link fails and a backup link comes up.

If the device supports the IP-FORWARD-MIB you can use IP-FORWARD-MIB::ipCidrRouteNextHop

the IOS Version I'm using is not supporting the IP-Forward MIB - an older version supports CISCO-IETF-IP-FORWARD-MIB and the new ones support the IP-Forward MIB - there were 1 ios version which supports none of them.. and this one is the one I'm using.

I think I'll update!
