I have a question about VMWARE, Guest status and Operational State.
What is the difference ?
I have several VM where the operational state is always "running" but Guest status varies between warning or critical.

Operational State is the state of the guest operating system installed on the VM, and the only way we can know this state of the OS is if VMware Tools is installed on the guest OS (or if you are polling with SAM.). The VMware API property we read for this is guestState
Guest Status is the Solarwinds status of the VM (which also applies to Host, cluster , datacenter, & vcenter.)
