Polling engine halted

Can anyone advise.

Orion 9 - Poliing engine has stopped. Have tried to stop and restart services but no luck. Service manager reports all running but Polling engine monitor reports engine has stopped. How do i manually kick start polling engine from this state? Thanks

You mean the Monitor Polling Engines ran from the Orion Server? I wouldn't trust that its been flakey (at best) since Ver 7. If your not missing polling data on your nodes that are assigned to that engine, it hasn't stopped.

I agree with Jtimes...

Your Polling Engine might not have its time synchronized with the database server and/or the other Orion servers which causes the Monitor Polling Engines utility to show you that the service is down. Probably a ~False Positive~ .

I have this problem too.

I can not collect any data (e.g average response time or ...).

I checked the Monitor polling engines. It has stoped . How can I restart it.

There is no service in Orion Service Manager to restart Polling Engin.

I had a similiar problem today... The service was running and the polling status page looked ok but I lost a days worth of stats from some devices. I had to restart the NPM service to get them back.

Is there any update from Solarwinds support on this. This is major problem for me. On ever restart the polling engine will not start. I have to go thru the wizard process to get it back going. Restarting the NPM service doesn't do it for me.
