No statistics for new agents

Hi,

I'm new to SolarWinds and we've recently installed the trial version. I'm having an issue when I install new Windows agents. The agents show up in the Profiler Server Monitor dashboard but have no statistics (CPU, MEM, DISK, Uptime, etc) to display. These show up as N/A instead of a green check mark. The new agents poll and through Netstat I can see they establish a connection to the SolarWinds server.

The stats for the SolarWinds server show up ok so the server seems to be collecting data ok. Being a newbie I'm obviously doing something wrong. I'm accepting all defaults when I install the agents.

Any ideas?

The agent should have automatically received the configuration as specified by the "Default OS Policy" which looks like it did not in this case. Restart the ProfilerWebserver service. Then, click on the spanner/wrench icon for the agent and hit "Save" to force a configuration push.

A few things you could check

- Do you have licenses available and enabled for this agent? (The Edit page of the agent will show you if its licensed)

- From the Server Monitor, if you drill down to the agent's console do you see historical charts for CPU, memory, etc?

- Does the traffic light respond to show the status of all the agent modules?

- If it is licensed and does respond to the traffic light, the WMI counters could be messed up. Click on the spanner icon and go to the performance section and try with disable WMI = true

Thanks for the reply. Here are the answers to your suggestions.

1. Licenses info "You have 999997 of 1000000 licenses remaining" so no problem there.

2. No Historical charts are available. Blank charts display but there is no data whatsoever.

3. I'm not sure what you mean by "Does the Traffic Light respond", however when I click the Trafic Light icon it opens the Agent Module Status page. I can see a number of the modules are offline including the ones responsible for collecting Disk, CPU, MEM stats, etc. Obviously this is showing me why the agent isn't displaying any stats but I'm unsure how to get those modules online.

4. WMI was enabled so I disabled it with no success, still no stats.

Any idea how I get the collection modules online?
