Network atlas - link does not changes color when interface manually shut down

Currently on my network atlas map I have links showing connection between different sites. when link goes down, the color of the interface changes to red and goes back to green when interface comes back up. However, when network engineer manually shutdown the interface, the link color does not changes. I would like to know if there is a way to change the color of the link to indicated that interface has been shutdown. ( any color other than red would be great)
