Unix and Solaris Application monitoring

Just downloaded the 30 day trial for APM. How do I check for iostat (io statistics), vmstat (virtual memory statistics), swap activities, process counts, etc for my unix/solaris systems? Not much is displayed under APM...Available memory on that node is "in an unknown state". It says it cannot login to ssh service and I may need to set login/password combination first. Is there a tutorial?

To collect the data you're looking for, you might use SNMP and leverage the net-snmp agent that's included with Solaris. Alternately, you could leverage Nagios scripts via APM's Open Source Script converter which will let it use Nagios scripts. You can find those at the Nagios Exchange. www.nagiosexchange.org/.../page.cgi
