Hi
Any one know if there is logic in NPM software release?
10.1.3 is out and its service release should its be named 10.1.2 sp3?
/SJA
No, this is correct. Check out this post for more background. If the fixes are specific to just NPM then we will do an SP. If they are wider and applicable to multiple products that leverage the Orion Core platform, then most likely we will do a service release.
It’s not where I’m going to...
1.It’s more that NPM change a lot from 8.5 to 9.5 to 10.1.1 it’s just not the same software.
2.There is feedback that you get only from thwack and not from the release notes J
3.It’s just not always smart to jump to newest release.
4.” Deploys in less than an hour with do-it-yourself deployment, no expensive consultants required”
That’s from solarwinds home page I think it’s not always the case.
Mmmm..
Something like a table that balance new features /software stability /web respond will be nice.
A lot of people will install or stay on older software release because the stability or how fast you get to your maps is more important than new features.
