Our interface alerts are no longer triggered as of a few days ago. We didn't make any changes to the alerts themselves. Which things should we check first to confirm why the alerts no longer trigger?
Do you have NPM event log write actions in your alert defintion? If yes, are they successful?
Something to also try....
Make a copy of your alert.
Open the copied Alert in the wizard.
Make the threshold absurdly low or high against your current threshold to force it to trigger, and at the end of the alert wizard, does it list objects that will trigger?
If yes, save the alert and see if it sends via SMTP succewssfully.
Also simply test alerts in the simulate or test section of the alert UI.
Have you made any changes to the thresholds? Are they baseline or static?
Are the alerts actually not triggering or are they just not taking action such as sending you an email?
Have you seen issues with alerts on any other object types, or just interfaces? Is it all interface alerts, or just a subset?
Thanks for your response. I was not seeing any alerts written to the NPM event log. I am not sure what has happened but we have been unable to reproduce the issue. We are monitoring interfaces and on Friday we shut down down and the alert was triggered successfully.
