Potential client - snmp traps

We are a banking enterprise and are currently looking for a product to monitor our network. From what we have seen on the site, and from downloadnig and piloting the demo we are very enthusiastic with solar winds.

The only problem that we have is that we didn't find any indication that the application is able to receive snmp traps. The local reseller was also unable to respond to this question. Please enlighten us since this is a very important step in planning our monitoring infrastructure.

Thank you very much NG for the answer. We will try this on the demo version and see if the result suits our needs.

The local reseller mentioned the possibility that this feature will be implemented in a future release.

Does anybody else know of such a thing?

SNMP Trap reception and decoding is indeed on the development plan for Orion.
But .. at this time, there are quite a few items ahead of it.

The SNMP Trap receiver will be implemented very similiar to SolarWinds SysLog server (which was released a few months ago).

Can we get an idea of what is ahead of it? When I made the push to move off HP Openview I was advised by Solarwinds sales @ the time that Q1 05' was the plan for snmp trap reception, and service monitoring would be intergrated by Nov 04'

Obviously neither of these have happened and it would be nice to have a roadmap
