File Age Monitor requirement

hi all,

i have problem with file age monitor. i want to monitor file txt for changes (d:\mytext.txt) on server : NEIGHBOR

i have tried \\${IP}\d$\mytext.txt , but it's said :

Testing on node NEIGHBOR: failed with 'Undefined' status

The network path was not found.

i tried to monitor localhost, it's said the same problem. but if i used path : d:\mytext.txt --> it's seem i monitoring my own solarwinds server path, not the NEIGHBOR.

what i must to do?

solarwinds server using : windows 2008 64bit, NEIGHBOR windows 2003 32 bit

Is it fair to assume that the credentials assigned to this component have access to the remote admin shares and that you have tested this?

hi qle,

the funny things are i have been test with any credential which correct or not when i fill with \mytext.txt , it's always show available status.

anyway, this server and client already hardening with my client, this user member group are : administrators, remote desktop users, DB_Group.

is there any services that should i run into it?

I'm certain you need to configure the component to use the UNC path specified in your original post: \\${IP}\d$\mytext.txt. My question about login credentials was actually about the UNC path to the remote file. Have you confirmed that the login credentials configured for this component can access \\${IP}\d$\mytext.txt from the poller?

i have tried using local admin credential of this client, but still can't access it.
