Is it possible to keep previous historical data when switching from Net-SNMP to the Linux agent?

Most of our environment is Linux and we have been monitoring the servers via Net-SNMP. When switching over to the Linux agent is it possible to keep all of the historical information like CPU, memory, and disk utilization? Or does the database register as a new device and all historical information deleted?

Some information will be retained when you convert the node from SNMP to Agent, such as availability, response time history, CPU and memory. Items that won't be retained will be interface and volume metrics. All historical SAM application monitoring data should also be retained.

I guess it will register as a new node only, Haven't tried yet.

How about adding it as a new node with the agent and leaving the old one running - then you can keep your history and can do some comparisons?
