SysName vs Caption

In the Orion database, in the 'Nodes' table, what is the difference between SysName and Caption. We changed the hostname of a device on the node itself and it updated SysName but it did not update Caption (this is after rediscovering the node).

If I am not mistaken, the SysName is the device name obtained via SNMP query from the device MIB, while the Caption is the name of that device in the Orion database. That is why you can change the Caption without effecting the actual name in the device MIB. Rediscovery is not supposed to overwrite changes to the Caption.
