Agreed. Web Performance Monitor would be my recommendation as well. You can also use SAM's HTTP or HTTPS User Experience Monitors for more simplistic web page response time monitoring.

Web Performance Monitor provides this capability for web apps inside and outside your firewall. You can monitor pages from multiple locations.

Web Performance Monitor is a separate Orion module from SAM. The screenshot you posted above is a SAM application template that can be used for monitoring the remote players that can be deployed in distributed environments.
