IMC Media Converters
Denis
Does anyone have IMC Networks media converters working with Orion? We use IMC iMcV 18 Chassis with iMcV-Master module w/RS232 (SNMP module) and iMcV-Lim media converters. We are able to ping the device with Orion but it does not pull down the MIB.
I contacted IMC and they said they support HP openview but did have a issue 6 month back with a customer who used their product (I believe there product was re-labelled to PrismaView) and it was a syntax issue where there was a discrepency in the RFC 1643 spec.
They are checking into it but don't think it is their product having the issue.
The problem happen after you enter the IP of interface and community string Orion just sits there waiting... it looks to be like it doesn't understand or can pull down the MIB.
Thanks, D
Denis

Hi Denis,
You may want to ask your vendor what MIB they are using. If it is a custom vendor MIB it is unlikely to work with Orion. Orion only looks at a fixed set of MIBs which include standard interface info and host resources (CPU, MEMORY, etc). In addition, they have some Cisco specific info thrown in (because Cisco is King Kong in the network world).
If you do a search on custom mib in the forum you will see a full accounting of this issue.
Be fantastic.
