How can Solarwinds NPM generate an alert when IP address of a node changed?

Question

I recently had to manually change the IP address of a device that changed its IP address so that it can continue to be monitored.

However, I would like to know if there is a way to configure an alert such that it generates an alert when certain device changed its IP address.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I'm not seeing a way to do an alert based on the events except with a custom sql query. Am I missing something?

Set to dynamic and you will see IP changes in Events. https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/Set_the_Dynaminc_IP_Address_option_in_NPM
