Is there a way to import Nagios Hosts and Services into SAM? Or worst case, how would I compare the configurations on both systems in an automated fashion (without literally looking at every single Service within Nagios)?
There is no direct import from Nagios into SAM, nor any way beyond manual comparison to validate the configuration between these two different management systems. Typically during migration I move one test/check/probe/sensor/plugin at a time to SAM's Nagios Script Monitor. Once I've confirmed it's working I remove it from Nagios and move onto the next. It can be a fairly tedious process for large Nagios migrations but it's not difficult. it's more time consuming than anything else.It can usually be completed in an afternoon, or for larger deployments a day or two at most.
