Powershell V5.0 in SAM

Question

I am trying to run one powershell script through solarwinds application template. I have two questions for this, Please help me

1. SAM powershell monitor run Powershell v5.0 commands

2. In template Execution mode should be Local Host or Remote Host. What is the diff between them.

I know the thread is old now, just adding our bump. At some point compatibility isn't enough. Powershell is growing and quickly evolving. Please let us know if you plan to commit to evolving with the new features.

In general - all powershell versions are backwards compatible to v2.0 so there shouldn't be any issue when running SAM powershell based monitors.

Template execution mode - In local execution mode the PowerShell script is run "on" the Orion server itself. Your code that executes may query remote resources, but the code is running locally on the Orion server. In remote execution mode the code is executed "on" the remote computer itself. This mode of operation requires properly configuring WinRM on both the Orion server, as well as the remote host. You can achieve the same results as remote execution mode without the need to configure WinRM by installing the Orion Agent on the remote host and using local execution mode.
