Hardware health status of the battery on controller is missing

Hi,

in some Dell servers we can't monitor the status of the battery on the raid controller. See the following screenshot:

How we can solve the issue?

If we login to the Dell Server Administrator web console, the status of the battery controller appear correctly on each servers.

Is the agent the same version on both servers? It is possible that different versions of OpenView (or whatever it is called on Dell - been a while since I used their kit) may report the battery status in a differnt OID or a different way that SolarWinds doesn't handle. I've noticed similar sorts of things happenign with the HP hardware I monitor based on the SIM agent version.

This is likely related to the polling method being used. For the server you are seeing battery information on, is this an ESX host or is this a WMI managed node?

Yes, the first server is an ESX host and the second is a Windows servers (via SNMP).

Understood. This is a known issue in SAM 5.0 that we hope to address soon. It's currently being tracked under FB114150 and referenced in the the latest "What we're working on" post under "other Miscellaneous items" of the "Additional Hardware Monitoring Support line item.
