I'm currently setting up and tweaking the notifications for our SAM instance and I wonder if anyone can shed any light on whether the following is possible?
The aim is to add a URL and custom variable to all alert emails that link to the affected node's details page in SAM. Having already setup custom variables for each node's entry in DELL Kace and have links successfully displayed on the node details page, I figured the process would be pretty much the same for adding URLs and CVs to email alerts. The idea was to use the unique id that is part of the URL when viewing a particular node's detail page in SAM (i.e. N:81, etc.) as a CV and attach that on to the end of the URL which would be present in the email trigger action. However, the variables don't seem to want to work when firing out alerts, it just displays the variable. As a workaround I thought I might have been able to use the full URL as a CV, but it complains it is too long.
Is there something I need to do to get these custom variables to work? Or is it just not possible?
