I am try to run a report or see usage of what SAM licenses are being used by Node and more importantly by Group so we can dynamically charge our customers on monthly usage.
This could be done in theory using advanced SQL but it would take some doing to map back the components, to the application, to the node, to the group. Assuming of course you simply have the nodes in the group and not the components themselves. If you had the Components themselves directly in the group then this would be a far simpler task. I would recommend posting this question to the Report Lab. That is where the SQL report gurus hang out and can give some guidance, and maybe even some example code.
