I need to create a SSH request reponse template, can't find one

I need to create an APM to test for a response back from a server, router, switch, etc.. In other words all I need is the template to check to make sure I get a "Login as :" back from the remote node. I don't need to actually login to the server. Any help is appreciated.

If this is a Unix system I would recommend using the Unix/Linux script monitor with a very simple/basic script like the one below.

#!/usr/bin/perl
print "Statistic: 0";
exit 0;

If this a switch/router or similar device gle's suggestion of using a TCP port monitor for TCP Port 22 is a good one.

So you need to check only for a login prompt from routers, switches and servers? I'm not an APM expert but I'd like to prompt the APM comunity on this one.

APM guru's - any assit is welcome.

I was initially going to suggest using the TCP Port Monitor but since you specified the login prompt as a success factor, you'll probably going to need to code a VB/Powershell/Perl script to accomplish this. Then, of course, use the corresponding script monitor.

Thanks all...I am using the simple tcp port check for port 22. I knew it would be something easy. that is working fine. Thanks for all the help.
