CISCO-ENVMON-MIB & CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB

I am having issues with hardware alarms on two ASR-9001's and a couple of 7606's. Neither of the default hardware mib's seem to clear up the false positives which are all generally receive warnings and temperature alerts.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think upgrading Solarwinds to the latest version would get me the latest Cisco MIB's.

Is there a way to update these two mibs without upgrading Solarwinds to the latest version?

I am running NPM 12.1

I'm a big believer in upgrading, but in this case, you don't have to. You can simply download the latest MIB DB from SolarWinds (they update it weekly) and import it into your environment. I wish they would make an "Upgrade MIB DB" button for us to do it automagically, but it's a lil bit of a manual process atm.

There will be instructions inside the zip file to update your MIB DB locally.

Go to settings, all seetings, then manage hardware sensors and correct the thresholds that are causing you issues. Dont think its a mib issue you have but i could be wrong.

I'm familiar with that process but would like to get the latest and greatest before I go down that path.

Upgrade to npm 12.3 beta and then go to settings, all sett.........

Got this latest file. I'm going to guess this has to be done on main engine and all polling engines? What about service restarts? I can't imagine these would take effect w/o restarting services.

The upgrade stops the services and starts them again, main polling engine first, then the ape's. You know you can create your own mib templates for solarwinds npm for your devices dont you?

I know all too well what upgrading does and how it works. I am just asking about this mib swap mentioned in the first post.

That's correct, all servers.

You will need to shut down all services while you swap out the MIBs.cfg file to release the existing one.

Did replacing the mib database resolve the issue with these Cisco devices? We are having the same problem.

No. Updating that mib file does not update the CISCO-ENVMON-MIB OR CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB. We just ended up disabling the sensors.
