Hi,
I would like to request the ability to add a custom property to an application template in a similar fashion as adding it to nodes or interfaces. This would allow you to group Application Monitors into priorities, owner etc.
Kind Regards
Miron
Thanks for the feedback; clearly this would be useful. I know this request has been out there for a while now, but it's still definitely something we'd like to do when priorities permit.

Miron,
In v2.5, which ships soon, we are introducing the concept of "tags" for templates. Tags are just simple text labels that can be associated with one or more templates. The new UI will allow you to organize by tags. If you'd like to see it, please sign up for the Beta
.
Denny,
I presume that you can report and alert based on tags then? May I ask why the difference between NPM using custom prop and APM using tags?
Regards
No. You can't report on them in this version except through an advanced sql query report. Good suggestion, though.
Custom properties have a type (e.g., location) and values (e.g., Peoria), whereas tags are just values. Tags are lighter and more flexible, which is why we went that way.
Sorry to bump an old thread...
Has this functionality been incorporated into the latest version? I'm looking to create a report and/or custom view that sorts applications (from APM) based on an owner. Whether the owner is a custom property (can't see how to do that by application, only node, interface or volume) or a tag, is there a way to report / sort on this without having to resort to advanced queries?
Regards,
Todd
