APM 2 and Exchange 2003 disk read/write

We recently upgraded to APM 2 on Orion 9 SP2. I built new monitors for our Exchange Servers which appear to be working much better with this new version of APM. That said, we're noticing odd behavior when looking at Disk Reads and Writes. Specifically, the value it's getting back from the servers is impossibly high...

Has anyone else encountered this behavior or know of a way to resolve it into something that makes sense?

You know what, we have exactly the same problem on those exact two monitors. I raised it with support, but was told - these are the figures our server is reporting. But our graphs show a steady increase in these figures, which doesn't make sense if its an average. Plus figures of 24GB written per second, is frankly ridiculous.

I just hope someone from SolarWinds can perhaps look into this again, as its certanly doesn't seem to be working correctly...

You are correct that this is an issue because the WMI classes being queried are the Raw classes and not the Formatted ones. If you edit the component's WMI query and change the queries to use the formatted counters you will get back more relevant data.For Example for the DiskReadBytesPerSec, you would change to the following query : SELECT Name, DiskReadBytesPerSec from Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfDisk_LogicalDisk.

If you use APM's AppBuilder you can browse the WMI classes such as Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfDisk_LogicalDisk on the Exchange server to see what else is available and pick and choose items you wish to monitor if you would like more customization.
