I recently updated SAM to 6.2.4 along with updating NPM to 12.0. Major reason for jumping on the update on release day was to get my Exchange 2016 monitoring up and running.
Worked like a charm except for errors that popped up on 2 of 40 Databases. AppInsight for Exchange is reporting Critical on "Events in queue" for those 2 databases. The counters for it are set to Warning=20 and Critical above 50. But the counter displays: 2.15 G (yes.. that is 2.15 gig). I wanted to dive into what was going on there and googled my ass off but found nothing on where to look to fix the problem.
I checked those counters out with PerfMon and got to the same conclusion as SAM at around 2.147.483.837 (2.15 G) and not moving.
Solarwinds Expert Knowledge for the counter says:
"Definition: Shows the number of events in the in-memory queue waiting to be processed by the assistants.
Information: Should be a low value at all times.
Possible problems: High values may indicate a performance bottleneck.
Remediation: Review Event logs for related events. Monitor CPU & Memory for bottlenecks."
Does anybody know if there is a queue waiting to be empty, if there is a bottleneck somewhere that I'm missing or what ?
No users working on either of those databases have reported problem with the delivery of mail.
The Exchange setup is 3 servers in a DAG, the error does not display on servers not currently mounting the database.
