Orion vs MOM

We currently have Orion monitoring about 300 Nodes up and running at our field site. Our Corporate IT has now offered us 10 licenses for MOM. Does anybody use both MOM and Orion for Server monitoring? If so do you think that is worthwhile to use both?

Yes, they do totally (well, maybe not totally) seperate things. MOM does really good application level monitoring whereas Orion does more network activity and "Is this thing alive" type monitoring. I know that I am making it seem really simple, but they do different things.

MOM does things that I never expect Orion to do, as that is not Orions focus.

MOM is built more for the MS type servers, it would tell you that your SQL server is having problems for instance, where Orion focuses on your SQL Servers NIC card is really busy.
