For my component monitors I have event logs listed that show the date in 2014. Why is that?
Also how do I clear the component when I decide that the issue is fixed that was reported in the event log?
The Windows Event Log Monitor displays the date/time of the event as it appears natively in the Windows Event Viewer on the monitored Windows host. I recommend checking the date/time on that host to ensure it's set correctly.
As for clearing events, the alert status will clear after the next successful poll, but the historical events will remain in the window until they age out of the database after 8 days (configurable) as seen under [Settings -> SAM Settings -> Data & Database Settings]
