Virtual Memory & 64bit Windows

Hi, O

Our application monitor (2.0) for SQL server is saying it is using 8Gb of memory, 42% of local but 274% of virtual. It is a 64bit server running Windows 2003 with 16Gb of memory.

Why is it saying 274% of virtual memory? is it using 32bit counters?

This is a known bug. Instead of calulating the percentage using the total virtual memory, we were calculating it based on the total page file size - which is just plain wrong.

Is there a timescale for this to be fixed? We are monitoring a 64bit Windows server with SQL and are getting a similar problem.

Logging onto the machine shows all is well, but APM is reporting it as critical.

Since we may soon be wanting to monitor more servers like this, it would be really nice to get this fixed.

Plus it is making our APM view look untidy!! ;-)

It should have been fixed in APM 2.0 SP2. see

Ah, ok thanks Josh.

I was aware of SP2 but somehow missed that fix as it didn't mention it was 64bit specific.

I'll try and get an install window and see how it goes.

BTW, is it a requirement that SP1 is installed prior to running the SP2 upgrade? I'm pretty sure that we already have SP1 but want to cover all my bases.
