Permissions needed in WORKGROUP

Morning Folks,

I've for SolarWainds SAM all up and running. I have around 200 servers polling correctly using Domain Service Accounts which is great but now im struggling to get certain non-domain (WORKGROUP) servers working correctly

I've created a local account on each server with Administrator rights but as i try to add them they fail. I've disabled UAC and nothing. If i try the builtin Administrator account it validates just fine

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Since the local administrator account seems to work, but the named service account you are using doesn't, it would appear this is a permissions based issue. I would suggest going through the following KB article for creating a non-admin user account and configuring the permissions appropriately.

Alternatively you could deploy an Agent onto those machines which natively runs in least privileged mode, requiring no administrator credentials to run beyond initial installation.

Additionally, you could install SNMP on the problem hosts, configure it, and add them is using SNMP.

Where possible, use the Agent, as aLTeReGo quite rightly said. You get a lot more information through it, especially if you have NPM, due to the QoS packet sensors that come with them.

Note that QoE is included as part of SAM as well as NPM.
