APM Active Alerts

APM Active alerts seem to be acting strange... well at least it appears that way to me. I just setup and started actively using APM at the end of last week.

Today when I arrived at work I see several Active Alerts for down components (the default one that is setup when you install it) but those components are no longer down. What is even more odd is that I have two of the exact same Active Alerts for one incident.

My questions are as follows...

1. Why haven't thoese Active Alerts gone away since the componenet no longer seems to be down?

2. Why do I have two Active Alerts at the exact same time for the exact same component?

Ok, I answered #2 for myself, one was for the component and one was for the applicaiton. That still leaves me wondering about #1.

Well, I have solved #1 as well.

It would seem that at times my system is loosing connection to it's database. When this happens active alerts stop working correctly and require the Alerting Engine to be restarted in order to resume normal function.

Are you up to dates on Service Packs? We fixed that alert issue.

I am on SP2, I haven't yet seen a new servce pack but I have heard mention of an SP3. Is there an official SP3 that I should be using and if so where can I get it?

This was fixed in Orion NPM 9.5 SP2. Can you verify that you are running SP2 by looking at the footer on your Orion website?
