Integrating Solarwinds with other 3rd Party Monitoring tools

Hi,

We are trying to integrate existing monitoring tools in our Infra to have a single dashboard across the organisation. As part of the exercise we are trying to integrate Solarwinds to an opensource tool Nagios. Has anyone in here tried this before? How can we achieve this?

What kind of integration are you looking to achieve with Nagios? Most users replace nagios entirely with SAM since the functionality is redundant and SAM can run existing Nagios plugins/scripts natively.

We already have both Nagios and Solarwinds in our infra and we are trying to integrate them to have a single Dashboard showing the health of the infra monitored by each of these tools. Do we have the API's of solarwinds available to allow this integration?

The Orion SDK is available, but it's unlikely to provide the type of integration you're looking for. More likely the types of integration you'll be using are forwarding SYSLOG or TRAP from Nagios to Orion, or leveraging iFrames with the Custom HTML resource for displaying Nagios widgets within the Orion web console.
