AppInsight for AD being automatically added to existing discoveries

Question

I recently upgraded one of my environments to the latest SAM which included the new Appinsight for AD.  Much to my dismay, it was added to all defined discoveries.

I can understand having it enabled by default for NEWLY created discoveries, but adding it to existing discoveries is a bad design decision.

I now need to upgrade a much larger environment.  One with close to 100 configured discoveries.  We do not want the Appinsight added to every discovery.  It would take several hours to manually edit each discovery to clear the check box.  So is there a way to:

1) disable the automatic enablement of the Appinsight during the upgrade or

2) run a SQL script to quickly disable it in all discoveries or

3) simply disable the Appinsight for AD so even when discovered it won't start firing alerts?

Thanks.  Off the top of my head I don't think that will work as I don't *think* Appinsight applications are treated like a regular template.  But I will go look.

To quickly remove SAM template assignments I use this code - not sure if this will be of use to you with AD AI but I use this code nearly everyday dealing with removing SAM templates.

DELETE FROM [dbo].[APM_Application]

where nodeid = '248'

and id in ('200')

It is setup to automatically monitor based on my defined monitoring settings.  My Monitoring settings are set to not include the current Appinsights.  Unfortunately the upgrade to SAM 6.9 added the AD and enabled it.  That is the problem.
