Possible to redirect archive of config backups to network share subfolders?

I'd like to separate our archive of config backups into subfolders which identify the locations of the network devices. ie: DC1, DC2, DC3. Is this possible to do? Looking at the Config Archive settings in NCM, there is only one directory path with which you can specify for the archives to go.

Yes, this is possible. You can use macros/variables to define the path. See Appendix A of the NCM Admin Guide "Node and Archive Variables".

I know you are incredibly busy, but if you can spare the time to help, could you please be more descriptive as to how to actually do this? I have read and re-read Appendix A, and still have no idea where to start setting this up.

Let's say I have 5 nodes in two data centers. I would like to configure 5 nodes to export their configs to \\server1\config_archives\DC1 and the other remaining 5 nodes to \\server1\config_archives\DC2

Can you please assist me when you can find the time? Otherwise, I won't be able to do this.

If you go to File > Settings > Config Archive, you'll see the following default setting:

${NodeGroup}\${Caption}\${Date}\${Caption}-${ConfigType}.Config

You could actually leave this as the default.

Then, select the nodes that belong to DC1 in the device tree, select edit, and change node group to "DC1".

Perform the same operation for all nodes in DC2.
