Disable all alerts during maintenance window

Is there a simple way to disable all alerts during a maintenance window?

I found discussions of this going back a few years but no solutions. Can I stop the alerting service and restart after the window or will it still make up the events it couldn't send while it was off?

I really didn't appreciate the several hundred emails this weekend while the server team was applying patches and rebooting.

PS. Please add one more vote to the feature request for a maintenance window feature. Not just a one device at a time feature, but one that let's me disable alerts for all or groups of nodes.

I found this thread that refers to a "Disable All Actions" button. I'll try that during the next maintenance window but I'd note that from a UI perspective that's in a horrible place.

To find it, get on the server desktop and run the Advanced Alert Manager, then open the Active Alerts tab (blue triangle with ! on the toolbar) and then on the right end of the in-tab toolbar there's a checkbox for "Disable All Actions".

As feature setting that should really go on the menu somewhere. Perhaps next to "Configure Alerts"?

You could just unmanage the devices during the window. This will prevent any alerts from being sent out, and you won't have to remember to enable the alerts again. You can do this in Node Management under Settings. Hope this helps.

Hi Chrystal,

Unmanaging the nodes during the window does prevent the alerts from being sent out during the schedule, but when we remanage the node, then it sends out alerts activated during the window with the current timestamp. Hope you could help. Thanks in advance.
